i am applying to tufts this year as well! sorry this is coming from a slightly uninformed high school student but to me, you are a viable candidate as your SAT is slighty above average (i believe the average is 2120). your grades are great and your ec’s are decent. if you apply ED you have a great shot, if you apply RD you are looking at 50/50, maybe a little higher. i can see you getting in. good luck! chance me too please!!

There’s something wonderful about kids who haven’t gone through the process nor seen their classmates go through the process chancing each other. For example, I believe Dan has stated (this is how rumors get started) that applying ED to Tufts does not affect your chance of getting in; you should only apply if you’re sure it’s your first shot.

Anyway, you should definitely apply. ED only if you are 100% sure that Tufts is for you.

Thanks for the info, guys.

TuftsStudent, thanks for the input. Do you think I’d be likely with RD? I’m not really looking to go ED because I am applying to many schools and want to weigh my options.

Now, that does seem counter-intuitive to everything else you hear. But it gives you a perfect reason to apply RD to Tufts and to other places as well.

Huh what’s the point of ED then? Doesn’t ED have higher acceptance rate? Or is solely because the applicants who apply for ED are generally stronger?
