Hey everyone! I'd really appreciate it if you could read through my stats and provide me with your honest opinion about my chances. I'm applying ED to Trinity.

Academic:
GPA weighted: 4.34/5.0
GPA unweighted: 3.85/4.0
School doesn't do rankings, but I'm in the top 15% of a very competitive public school in NJ (nationally ranked in the top 100 public schools)

SAT: 2300 (790 M, 740 CR, 770 W)
SAT IIs

Extra Curriculars
Varsity Swim Team (4 years) Co-captain this year
1st chair flautist in my school's Orchestra (4 years), been taking private lessons for 7 years and have participated in chamber ensemble groups for the past 3 years.
President of my school's Operation Smile chapter which has raised over $1200 in the past 2 years.

Intern at a chemical engineering lab at a very prestigious university in my town this past summer, worked 35 hours a week on fuel cell research

Essays:
submitting all 3 optional supplemental essays. Have been edited by current Duke students and English teacher, should be top notch.

Recommendations:
AP English Teacher who just retired, so she has lots of free time to write recs. Should be outstanding considering how well I did in her class and how well she got to know me as a student.
AP Chem teacher - should be above average but nothing extraordinary.
Optional Letter: Flute teacher who has known me for 6 years - should be very insightful and provide an alternative perspective to my character.

Other:
•State (if domestic applicant): NJ
•School Type: Medium Sized very competitive public high school (~1300 students)
•Ethnicity: Asian-American
•Gender: Female

Any input would be greatly appreciate, and I would take the time to chance back as well!
Thanks

You’re in, I doubt you even need the ED boost.

Wow didn’t expect that at all. Thanks!

I think you’ll be accepted! You look really qualified! Good luck! :)

I had stats similar to yours and I got into RD. I’d be pretty surprised if you don’t get in ED.

Hey! We are really alike, so I definitely hope both of us are good enough haha. I’m also around 15% at a top 75 public… it worries me, but I mean if you’re a good student having tough competition shouldn’t be held against you. By the way, aren’t there just two- the Why Pratt/Trinity and any research one?

Thanks for all the feedback!

@seahawks,there’s also an optional one-page letter from a parent, sibling, or friend that you can submit.

Oh, I know that, I was just thinking about essays you yourself had to write. I’m getting mine from my business teacher. but yeah I look at everything and it’s so weird how similar we are… I’m a guy though :P

if this is my competition… i shouldn’t even bother applying  you look pretty well qualified for any school. Good luck! chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/duke-university/1222176-chance-me-duke-2016-a.html#post13297680
