My school is a very small (257 students total) all-girls independent Catholic school. My school doesn’t have class rankings but I am in the top 10% of my class for sure. We can’t take any AP classes until sophomore year (and we can only take one that year). We have a block schedule, meaning that our classes are an hour and 30 minutes long, so we have 4 blocks during a day. We cannot take very many AP classes as a result. I will graduate with 6, which is a high number for my school. Nobody from my school has ever been accepted to Brown (about a dozen have applied in recent years).

I think my common app essay is unique- I wrote about becoming a vegetarian by telling a story of a family dinner when I was 10 years old, and then discussed how I developed my passion for environmentalism and how I have shown that passion throughout my life.

my letters of rec should be really good, I am very close with my teachers who wrote them and I know they will do a great job.

I forgot to mention that I had an alumni interview. It was really great, we had an interesting conversation, not just a bunch of questions. He said he would recommend me highly.
