Okay so I applied ED II to Richmond and I honestly have no idea what my shot is.

I go to a private school in New Jersey- it is ranked one of best prep schools in the nation.
Richmond loves my high school and we usually send a few kids there.

My GPA is low at about 3.25, not very high but it is not weighted and my school is very rigorous. My ACT scores are a 28, they are right in the middle for Richmond I think.

I only take 1 AP which i think will be a downfall to my application but I have taken a few honor classes and I have taken a lot of classes.
Junior Year:
English 11
Pre-Calc AB
Math Physics
Organic Chemistry
Genetics
U.S. History
Spanish III Honors

Senior Year:

AP Statistics
Advanced Research Physiology

I have a lot of extra curricular activities.
I have been on Varsity Softball for 3 years. I was on Varsity Field Hockey this year, but was on JV fresh, soph and jun. year.
I am photo editor of our school's newspaper.
I went on a 3 week Spain Trip my sophomore year where I took classes and live with a Spanish family.
I went on a bike trip for 10 days riding from NJ to Washington DC about 400 miles. We camped every night.
I volunteered to help kids with special needs and taught them in the classroom. I also helped them with Physical Therapy.
I volunteered at a horse farm for kids with disabilities who needed therapeutic help.
I started my own club called the Have a Heart club for kids in need.
I was a tour guide for 2 years.
I did chorus for 2 years.
I have done community service day all 4 years, I have run many 5ks and 10ks to help kids with disabilities.
I worked at a front desk in a hostel for a few summers.
I can do basic sign language.

please chance me! this is for ED II.
Thanks!

My 2 cents is I think you have a fair shot but your GPA may hurt you. Your ECs are diverse and that will help you. Make sure you have a great essay that really sells you as someone that UR wants to have!

PAVenturer- my essay I think is pretty good and strong. It is emotional and definitely explains me as a person.

and

ckde2010- sorry you got deferred, I know my credentials are low but I am also not lying when I say my school is extremely rigorous and Richmond knows that, regardless, we will see what happens.

I think you have a shot. Just make sure your essay and supplement stand out. What people don’t realize is school recognition is VERY important in the college process. I just was accepted ED I to Richmond from an independent school in New York and coming from a school that Richmond is very familiar with and understands the rigor of my curriculum definitely helped me I believe, especially since my gpa was LOWER than yours. (My school doesn’t have gpas but if it was calculated mine would be lower than yours). If your school has a good reputation with Richmond and they understand the rigor of your school’s curriculum, a slightly lower gpa won’t hurt you as much as it would someone from a lesser known school.

Thank you so much! that made me feel so much better! That is exactly how I feel, a lot of people dont understand how much more rigorous schools can be and how much a reputation of a school means. Thank you so much! That just made me feel way better!! =)
And CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING IN!

haha no prob. no one has the right to say their credentials are better than someone else’s when they don’t even know the person’s full story. i bet youll get in. some deferrals already came out
