For sure, having a light look at my app just helps me keep a good mind before entering the college process.
I will definitely be looking at QB. I did look at Loyola and DePaul and did previously know that receiving even half-ride would be unlikely. I’m not too worried about UIUC being a reach because my previous SAT score (1350) was taken beginning of Junior year (September), and ever since taking AP Calc AB and AP English language, my strengths within the 2 subjects has strengthen a lot more. I took the SAT on April 12th, so I expect a high score increase, especially for English, the lowest for me. Also, after taking a practice SAT test (in Jan) at school, my projected SAT score was 1430-1460.
I’m trying my best, I will need to identify some really big problems that I have gone through during my high school career in my college app (family member death, working to support family while balancing school, a lot more issues I can’t mention here) and I hope that can really be taken into consideration.
How’s your relationship with your school guidance counselor? The counselor recommendation is the best place for all of those adverse conditions to be described - it is more impactful coming from them than directly from you. If that person doesn’t know you well, meeting with them now and laying the groundwork so that they’ll be equipped to support your application with as much insight as possible would be a good idea.
