Demonstrated Interest: Two visits, an interview (made sure to sound interested), and (obviously) applying ED
Intended Major: Chemistry (probably with another major or minor)
Teacher Rec from APUSH teacher: Didn’t see it, but she liked me and is a good writer.
Teacher Rec from Honors Bio teacher (also in his club at school, senior teach for his class): Also didn’t see it, but hopefully good. May not be very well written, but he really likes me. Also I senior teach (kind of like being a teacher’s assistant) for his class, so that’ll look good.
Counselor rec: Mehhhh. Probably fine. He doesn’t know me that well, but he’s a nice guy.
Essay: Fairly happy with it. Spent lots of time, many people read it, and they seemed to like it. Probably 8.5-9/10.

Hooks: Mehhh not much. I feel like I’m a pretty generic applicant.

I think my main weakness is my UW GPA. I go to an extremely rigorous high school which often ranks as one of the best in the state, but because of that there’s a lot of grade deflation. I have a HUGE upward trend in my UW GPA though, with about a .4 difference between first semester freshman year and second semester junior year.

So what do you think? Obviously not looking for definite answer, but I’m really stressing about it, and with decisions coming out in about two weeks from today, I just wanted to gage my chances. Thank you!!

I got in, btw, in case anyone wants to use this as a future reference
