Chance Me ED!

Hey I’m looking to apply ED to NU to either Weinberg or McCormick

SAT: 2190
Math: 760
CR: 740
Writing: 690
Bio SAT2: 730

Extra-Curricular’s:
NHS President, Cancer Awareness Secretary, Editor of School Newspaper, Intern at Columbia Medical Center for 2 summers, Third place at NYSEFF Competition last year, Over 200 hours volunteering (at a farm, local soup kitchen, and senior citizen home), Senior Class Vice President, Varsity Tennis 4 years, Secretary of World Language Honor Society

GPA:
4.0 UW
4.3W

Classes:
Freshmen: 2 honors (no AP’s available)
Sophomore: 2 AP’s (Physics B(4) and World History(5)), Honors Algebra/Trig2, Honors English, Honors Spanish, Honors Earth Science
Junior: 4 AP’s (Biology (4), English Lang (5), US History (5), Spanish (5))
Senior: 6 AP’s (Chemistry, Physics C, BC Calculus, US Government, Economics, English Lit)

I took the mat2 SAT2 and didn’t do too well, I was planning to take it again in November but I read other posts for NU and people have said that sending the SAT2’s don’t make too much of a difference - please let me know what you think about this.

I think the Math SAT 2 matters for McCormick but not as much for Weinberg. I think it isn’t to hard to switch from Weinberg to McCormick after you get there, but I would just apply to Weinberg if you are unsure anyways.

Tell us about yourself so we can chance you:

m/F
urm
First gen
State
Pell grant
Full Pay
National Merit

Class rank

Pell versus other financial aid versus full pay won’t matter at all at NU. The rest could matter. Class rank and URM (and M/F for McCormick perhaps).

white, female, not a first gen, ny, looking for financial aid
top 10% in class (my school doesn’t do rankings)

You’re solidly in the ballpark! Top 10%, 4.0 GPA. That’s all you could ask for here - only the admissions officers can see if your ECs match what they are looking for. I’d say you got just as much shot as other very qualified candidates.
