@2013kid I just run XC to stay in shape but I am not that good at XC my best time in XC is 22:30 for 5k. I do hurdles and I run low 17’s and high 16’s I run sprints and my best time is 13.2

@Axelrod I want to go to Trinity because they are in the NESCAC so it’s good at athletics and also academics. I visited and I was in love with the school and every aspect about it. I want to ED because the coach told me he would have a better say in whether I get in or not, plus I know I want to go there so I might as well ED. Plus I may not need financial aid and even if I do apply for financial aid I will not need a huge package.

Coaches in minor sports have very little pull. Football, Basketball are tops. Trinity accepts well over 50% of AA candidates. Normally a 3.2 would not be close without 2200 on the SAT.

I agree that basketball and football is but, squash is actually a really big sport at Trin.
XC, track, is not nothing small either, really depends how interested in the coach is at the athlete themself.

As an aftican american the admission rate at trinity is well over 50%. Trinity despite its urban setting has one of the lower yields for URM in the Nescac. Not sure why.

@2013kid congrats on getting into Trinity!! I did EDII to get my SAT scores up, the coach said he would rate me a 1 which on his scale is the highest

@drjafieldsphd I get my SAT scores back this Thurs so I will see but thank you for your input

I wish you nothing but the best of fortune. College admissions are like most things very imperfect. Whether you go to Trinity or not your future looks very bright. SAT scores predict horribly yet they really do affect peoples lives.

Personally, I really do think TrinColl takes a holistic approach to the application. I had a 1710 on my SATs and really, truly thought that I wouldn’t get in because of that. Just continue to express as much as possible your desire to go to Trinity. Go for an interview! Write Admissions a supplemental letter!! Every little thing WILL help! Best of luck and hope to see you this fall in our 2017 class!

@drjafieldsphd yes you are very right well I hope I get into Trinity but thank you :)

@collegesweetie74 Thank you so much!! that makes me feel a lot better I will do everything that you recommended, congrats on getting into Trinity! and I hope to see you in the fall too! :)
