Rigor: Maximum (Dual Credit/Honors, no AP offered)

Rank: 21 of 79 (I have two c’s: geometry and Spanish I. Despite this, I have a 98 in Spanish II on my transcript and a 95+ in all of my math classes aside from geometry. The year I got those c’s (freshman year) I missed ~18% of the school year, so I was at a serious disadvantage.)

Recommendation Letters: 10/10, they were written by two teachers who adore me.

Common Application Essay: 8/10 (It wasn’t my best, but it wasn’t bad.)

Awards/Honors: National Merit Scholar Commended and 1st in TMTA Precalculus Competition

7 years in concert band as an alto sax player (Section leader for 3)

I forgot to mention that I am also first generation.

You are pretty much a lock for oxford and you should have a good chance of getting into emory (plz don’t take my word for it though after the disaster of college admissions chances last year, which proved that nothing is set in stone and there is a lot of randomness in this process).

What happened last year?

Craziest year of admissions in a long time. A lot of highly qualified applicants were turned down (major publics, not even ivies) and a lot of schools raised their standards (USC in particular). Although admissions is always crazy, last year was a fiasco for CC chances threads.
