Hey people, I’m a senior who’s applying in like, um, one and a half month. Just wondering what you guys think my chances are.
Race: Asian…-.-
Gender: Female
GPA: 3.96 UW, 4.45 W(9-12)
Ranking: 14 out of 700
SAT: 1570 superscored from two times
SAT math II: 800
SAT Chem: 780
Course:
AP Physics 1, AP Chemistry, APUSH, AP lang, AP Calc AB, AP Chinese
Got 5s for all the APs I’ve taken.
Currently taking AP Calc BC, AP lit, AP Bio, AP Econ
I also did a four year PLTW biomed program(and got my only 2 Bs in high school there lol)
ECs: I plan to go pre-med, most likely will major in chem
8 weeks Internship (like 25-30hr/week) at Stanford over the summer before senior year in a lab and I’m getting a letter of rec from the professor;
Also interned in another lab at Stanford at the same time but less time commitment
Owns a science blog (pretty small and not popular )
President for Red Cross club: I participated all 4 yrs; took over and restarted club sophomore year; certified first aider at major events; organized free school-wide CPR lessons.
Volunteered at a hospital for three years
Volunteered+shadowed a doctor at a free clinic for 4 yrs
MUN for 4 years and won a couple awards
Work in a restaurant during my senior year for 16 hr/week
Volunteered in a Chinese school for 4 yrs (I’m debating whether I should put it on common app)
I’m getting letters of rec from my AP chem(who likes me a lot) and AP lang teacher(who saw me struggle and still got a 5)
And let’s assume my essays are between top and average(I really like my supplementals but my personal statement sounds very serious and I don’t know how I feel about it)
I’m worrying about 1. being Asian American, especially as an immigrant 2. I have literally no awards besides MUN.
