Chance Me: Emory Uni (or Rice but stretch)

Ok so I just want to see if my goals are achievable…
Sidenote: AICE is a new program from Cambridge international that can award college credits much like AP at many universities around the US (such as University of Florida). It is weighted the same as an AP and has the same difficulty with an exam at the end of the year as well. It counts as a college credit class. The exams are graded a-e with a being highest and e being lowest but still passing. For A levels (second years) the grading is A-E with A being the highest and E lowest at passing (A level is a capitalized score)

Rice was my top school however I do not see my stats as competitive because of my scores-Emory is still a slight stretch but I genuinely am in love with what they offer!

Gender: Female
Income: Upper middle class (yay no scholarships or aid :frowning: )
Race: White (both parents are immigrants from turkey)
I am fully fluent in Turkish…reading writing speaking!
Location: South Florida
HS: Public but very very competitive
Rank: 15/900 but it will drop because of the first B I just got.

I have received my AICE diploma which granted me Florida bright futures

Next year I am planning on taking

AP Physics or dual enroll in chem
Maybe AICE sociology ?? Idk this is a next year problem!!

I had AP chem but the teacher was so so bad so I had to switch the class for stats…I will either take AP physics next year or dual enroll at Florida Atlantic Uni in chem (or both)! Def wanna take chem before I graduate

This is the embarrassing part: I have gotten a 25 on my ACT and a 1150 on my SAT without studying but I was genuinely so sad because I am decently smart…I guess I can’t take standardized tests for the life of me…I will try to get them up (I have to)

GPA 4.0 however after this semester it’ll be a 3.9-3.98ish?? (darn aice math)
Weighted 5.4 ish (5.3-5.6 range)

If Rice is truly your top choice. Go for it. The regrets will haunt you, you still have time to retake those tests. Besides Emory is a High Reach for you along with Rice, soupy minus well go with the one you prefer.

You should do some intensive test prep and try to pull up your scores. Khan Academy is free online or you can go to a place like Testmasters if you need structure. Some schools (not Emory or Rice) are now test optional.
