Chance me Engineering and XT program, low GPA,average SAT, from NoVa

Any thoughts for admission at VT? I put engineering as first choice and their XT(undecided) program as second choice. Wrote all three essays well, and one rec letter submitted.

WGPA is a 3.78, yes I know this is low SAT 740 M and 620 R/W. Total 1360
Freshman and Sophomore year GPA were really bad coming in at 3.5 and 3.6.
Junior year GPA was a 4.2
First quarter of senior year was a 4.6
Hoping they see the positive trend but I am not sure if engineering will care too much about that .
AP Classes taken Junior year were- AP Lang, AP US history, and AP Calc AB
Senior year AP’s, AP Economics,AP Lit, AP Chemistry, AP Calc BC.
I do have Legacy, which I doubt it’ll help but anyway.

Extracurricular-
Lacrosse 9th 10th(JV) 11th and 12th Varsity
Captain of JV as sophomore
Engineering Club - Treasurer
Debate Team - Mentor and Co-Captain
FBLA

Volunteer work:100+ hours in total
STEM camp instructor (50 hours)
Interned at small business
Volunteered at elem school to help kids with reading

Chances on both the engineering program and XT program would be great, thanks.

You should be fine. I got in today with a 1430 SAT and a 4.0 WGPA with similar classes as yours. I’m Asian and I’m from NOVA so my chances weren’t the greatest if the helps you feel better. I had similar extracurricular activities as you, but honestly I think I really stood out to the admission office because of my essays. Good Luck!

Look in the decision thread. There were a few deferrals with high stats. Yours could go either way.

Thanks for that! and congrats on getting in
