applying for fall '17 transfer
Major: Mechanical Engineer
In-state: yes (cc transfer)
IGETC: yes, plan to finish by summer '17 (only 1 class left)
Major prep: everything on assist that my cc offered
EC: co-founder and VP of Engineering club at my CC, some volunteering in high school
GPA: ~3.39 after fall
planning to also apply to: UCSD, UCSB, CSULB, UCD, CPP
For straight up mechanical engineering, the lowest GPA I caught being accepted was around a 3.4 from college confidential, and that person had tagged. That said I only saw like 2 admissions in that ballpark GPA so I am not sure what to make of it, small sample. You have great ECs, and if you wrote up a nice set of personals I think you have a fair shot. I know that for mech engi that GPAs can be quite lower even for great students, and since I’m not a mech engi major I can’t really share more with you than I have here. Last year people started hearing back mid April, but most were notified around the 25th of April! Hang in there
