GPA does not matter, rank is what is important. Your ACT seems to be in the lower range of the middle 50th percentile. Admissions would be probably harder for more competitive majors like CS, ECE, or BioE. Overall, I'd say UIUC is a low reach/high match for you. If your a female by any chance, your chances will be probably higher.

hey thanks for your input. My high school does not rank. We estimate that I am in the top 20% but that is a guess. They just give a school profile. I put down civil engineering as a major. I am male by the way...too bad.

Are you an U of I engineering grad? Is it really difficult? Do you have a social life or is it all consuming? Just wondering what I might be getting myself into...I do want to have fun in college too!

I am currently a CS major at UIUC. I'd say engineering is tough, but its not too hard to have social life when you manage your time correctly.

Thanks Sang54. Can you tell me one more thing since you are a current student. Honestly, do you think my stats are decent to get in? Were yours similar? I hear it is going to be a tough year especially for out of staters. Hopefully a legacy will help and the will want to get a student from all 50 states. Not many kids apply from my area. Wisconsin seems to be a more popular school. I guess IL does not recruit and it is hard to get to.

Any input would be helpful.
