First Generation College Student and Asian.</p>

W GPA: 4.1</p>

<p>I have taken 5 AP classes (AP Lit, AP Lang, AP Calc, AP Chem, AP Gov) and earned honors credit in 4 classes.</p>

<p>SAT: 1700
Reading: 600
Math: 530
Writing: 570</p>

<p>EC:
Varsity Tennis 4 years + Captain Sr year
Concert Orchestra 1 years + Concert Master Freshman year
Chamber Orchestra 3 years + Second violin section leader 2 years
Church Youth Group
National Honors Society 3 years
USTA Junior tennis tournament player</p>

<p>SAT is slightly lower than to be considered ‘safe’, but as long as you write good essays, I think you’re in. =) </p>

<p>For your activities, be sure to really show your involvement and leadership in the descriptions.</p>

<p>Your EC seems to be a lot of sports/music other than your NHS. I had a lot more academic ec, like council, writing clubs etc…Thought you’d want to know.
Like speedsolver said your SAT score is kinda low.
Did you take any SAT subject tests? If they are high especially the one your thinking of majoring in then that could be of help.</p>

<p>Writing really good essays can really help you too! </p>

<p>Regardless of your SAT score, if you have a really good essay, your chance of getting in is good. UW even says it on their website, they look more at your writing than they do the numbers. However, looking at your EC’s and GPA, you have a good shot at getting in :slight_smile:
