I’m a junior in hs rn, and by the end of this year I’ll have a ~2.9 gpa with a strong upward trend, I have a good explanation for the poor first two years, and will be taking an ap heavy senior year course load, and I’ll probably get around a 31 on my act, what are my chances? Is applying as a business major a separate process that is harder to get into? I’m out of state from not California, if that helps my chances.
This is purely anecdotal, but I’m a senior right now who has a 3.6/3.7 unweighted GPA (basically 80% As, but anything not an A is a C… - I got I think four Cs in sophomore year), a 32 ACT, and I got the highest possible merit aid out of state. The GPA for me was also a strong upward trend. I got a 4.3 freshman year, a 3.8 sophomore year, and a 4.5 junior year (weighted).
Oregon’s average GPA is like a 3.5, but their average ACT is a 24. So your GPA will probably end up being outweighed by your strongly above average ACT.
What have your unweighted GPAs been from year to year?
