I am not the typical over achiever on cc, so I am fairly concerned about whether or not I will be accepted here. It's my first choice but I also think it's probably a reach.

Have a really great personal statement
Applying as a transfer student for winter 2011 because i took 3 classes at my community college over the summer and another this fall.

Well, just tell me what you think. Thanks

Oh, and i am also an in state student.

Take my opinion with a grain of salt. The slight negatives are the SAT (78%tile) and the 3.3 GPA. If you were out of state, I’d say less than 50%. However, I think as an instate student, if your CC scores are good, you have a good chance.

I think you’re competitive, but not a slam dunk. The great personal statement is a huge point in your favor since UW really values the essays on the application, but your gpa/test scores aren’t going to help you that much. They shouldn’t hurt, but they’re just kinda middle of the road is what I’m saying. Also keep in mind that being an in-state community college student and already having your AA are big points in your favor because UW has a quote of in-state CC transfers they have to meet each year, and they like students who already have a lot of their gen ed out of the way since it means you’ll be in and out of UW quicker. Since you’re a borderline candidate in my opinion, it will probably come down to your essays.

The average for applying as a transfer is a 3.44, so you’re probably on the lower side of applicants, but that’s not horrible.

Your SAT scores are fine for transfer, I wouldn’t worry about it.

When transferring to UW they prefer students who have completed at least 90 credits or have an AA, so that will help you a lot. Obviously, the in state cc will help a lot, also.

If you think your essay was “great”, then you probably have a decent shot. I don’t know as though the extracurriculars will be a big deal. I think, as someone above posted, it will really come down to the essay.

Maybe I’ll see you there this winter. Good luck!

Thanks for the input. Your answers kinda reassured what i was already thinking. Hopefully it works out…
