Match for LSA

you should get in lsa
write a good essay for ross

Spanish is not Hispanic by the way… Neither is French or Italian. I don’t think you get to fill out Hispanic on the application. Hispanic generally refers to those who come from countries Mexico and further south in America.

Did you go to Huron or Saline? If so, you know you’re going to get into LSA.

I thought the same about Spanish. But on the Common App (which UMich is doing next year) it says including Spain which was weird to me.

And no, I go to Plymouth which is like 15 minutes east of Ann Arbor

apply early, umich is a safety for you.

There is no way 1/8 of plymouth high school is “hispanic”

Oy, I’ll second that.

You’re in.

“There is no way 1/8 of plymouth high school is “hispanic””

He was talking about 1/8 of himself.

That explains it. I must have read this page too fast.

Actually I think Spanish is considered Hispanic. If anyone is interested you can find some more information on the Hispanic forum.

I think a more important question is whether 1/8 is enough to be considered Hispanic. I thought it was 1/4.

LSA would be a safe match as an EA applicant and a match to slight reach as a RD applicant. Ross preadmit is a reach for any applicant.

I Spanish ancestry does not count as “Hispanic”. Hispanic means coming from a Spanish-speaking country of North, Central and South America.

According to the Common App Spanish is Hispanic.

Does Puerto Rican count as hispanic or is there a separate choice for that?

Safety, match for Ross.

thanks guys. michigan is my top choice so it looks like I’m good to go.
