You have competitive STATs but I would not call UCSD a safety.

UCI: Low Match
UCSD: Match
USC/UCLA: High Match
JH: Low Reach
Duke: Reach
Stanford/Brown/Harvard: High Reach

I agree with @Gumbymom‌

Additionally where are you from? California? This will make a difference for UCs

SAT/ACT is a bit low for these schools
Stanford/Harvard- high reaches
Penn/Duke/Brown- reach
JHU- low reach
USC/UCLA- low reach/high match
UCI and UCSD are low matches
chance- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1670747-improving-chances.html#latest

I am from California

Stanford, Brown, Harvard, UPenn- high reach
Duke, USC, John Hopkins- reach
UCLA-high match
UCSD, UCI-match/low match

try to retake your ACT and bring it up to at least a 34 and your chances at those schools will be A LOT better. Good luck

chance me back? <a href=“Chance for my dream school plus tips please C: - Lehigh University - College Confidential Forums”>Chance for my dream school plus tips please C: - Lehigh University - College Confidential Forums;

All of your reach + probable schools are reaches, except USC and UCLA – these are fringe match. Don’t bother sending your SAT, maybe re-take your ACT.

Chance me back, please.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1671762-failed-out-of-college-changed-my-life-what-are-my-chances.html?new=1

It would be helpful to know your breakdown for each section of the SAT so we could determine your superscore… Your GPA is impressive as are your diverse ECs. I think you have demonstrated your ability to be a contributing leader in a community.

Stanford, Brown, Harvard, UPenn, Duke are probably high reaches, additionally because they attract thousands of qualified applicants
I’d say low reach/high target are UCLA, Johns Hopkins

I’m not really familiar with the other schools, sorry! Best of luck!

JHU/Duke are certainly reaches.
Get those test scores up and you’re looking good.
Just a heads up, everyone I know has gotten nominated to the national leadership conference. I hope you didn’t go, I heard it’s a royal waste of time. Not sure if you want to include that in your app.

Please chance me back!
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1671578-chance-an-unspectacular-asian.html#latest

@kreig01 I am from California and I actually am part of a long line of USC legacies (12). My parents are actually presidential alumni.

Reach: Stanford, Brown, Harvard, UPenn, Duke
Match: USC, UCLA, Johns Hopkins
Safety: UCSD, UCI

I think what you had was accurate in terms of reach/match/safety, except for the fact that I considered Duke a reach, probably a low one. You have a great GPA, I think the only thing that may be a difficulty for you is standing out with your extracurriculars.

I’m sure you’ll get into a few of these, good luck!

bump^

High Reach: Stanford- maybe try to get really involved in one EC and elaborate on this, Harvard
Low Reach: Penn, Brown - I think both of these are doable
The rest are matches. Good luck and chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1673832-will-chance-back-chance-me-for-cmc-barnard-bryn-mawr-columbia-stanford-cornell-umich-stern.html#latest

Your extracurriculars are pretty good. What is harbor UCLA? It sounds pretty cool, so you should keep putting effort into it to increase your chances at UCLA. You should also retake either the SAT or ACT. A 2040 and a 32 are low, although the latter is a bit better. A 34 would dramatically increase your chances. Your list is pretty accurate except for Duke, which is a reach, and UCSD/irvine which are rather matches, but lower than UCLA a tad bit.
Good luck though!
