Forget about your freshman year, it will be overlooked considering your most current credentials. I do not see why you would not be able to get into any of the school that you listed. Although you are involved in so many things, some colleges would rather see how dedicated you are to a couple clubs or organizations rather than a million.

I agree with Wilson. I think you have a very good chance at all of the schools you have listed - I’m almost positive you’ll get into VTech, and if you live in VA then you’ll most likely get into UVA. I think Cornell and Brown will be slightly higher reaches since they have more applicants in general, but I’m 99% confident (AP stats joke…hehe) that you will get into at least 1 of those schools, and probably more than that.

Reesez, was that a 99% confidence interval? I am so glad to be almost finished with that class:)

And thank you guys! If you have a link, I’d be more than happy to chance back.

Any other opinions?

For any of these schools, hopefully the 2100 plus is a 2300 plus.

^ Well yeah, hopefully. I think my math score was like lagging in the May test, but CR and W are definitely solid.

I know I’m not planning on re-taking the SAT again, and perhaps I can get in the 2150-2200 range, but 2300 is a major stretch.

By looking at your list, you have an excellent chance at all of your schools

I think that if you are interested in more competitive schools (HYPSM), then you should apply. You seem like a solid applicant.

thispakistanigir - yes, that was a confidence interval!! Me too…I feel SO much better knowing I will never have to take stats again!

Really? I mean my W GPA is a 3.98, and my UW must be around a 3.89 or something, which really isn’t on par with HYPSM applicants. I was thinking that Cornell is a HUGE stretch for me.

How does your school weight? For my school, a schedule like yours with a 3.98 WGPA would be around a 3.7-3.8 UW GPA. That is definitely on the lower end for HYPSM applicants but you certainly have a rigorous courseload. I think your projected SAT score would hurt your chances at HYPSM more than the GPA.

Your GPA is explained by your rigorous courseload. Also, the fact that you have 3 articles in Neurochem journals is a very, very strong EC. And by no means is a 3.89 a weak GPA; I’d say it’s on par with HYPSM stats.

It’ll be your SAT, not your GPA (assuming your school is somewhat rigorous), that will hold you back from top schools. If you can get it 2250+, ideally 2300+, I’d say your chances at top schools are good; otherwise, I’d add a few more match schools to your list and avoid adding reachings.

If you have articles in neuroscience journals, I’m assuming those are for research you did? Look into entering Siemens or Intel your senior year.

Also Harvard admit with a ~3.7-3.76 (they keep changing my school’s grading scale; dunno what’s current) UW GPA over here. :] Admittedly by W was 4.12 (junior) and 4.19 (first semester senior year), but it looks like you’ve taken more APs than I have (I have taken 9 AP courses, although I took both economics tests for funsies), so that shouldn’t kill you. It would be unfair to judge you more harshly just because your school gives less weight to APs. I /think/ our extracurriculars are at about the same level, but it’s hard to tell since we’re interested in totally different subject areas. Go for it if you’d be interested! They’re reaches, but I think your chances are, at least, higher than average. Your SATs do matter a lot, though, so I hope you did well.

Also, I think that Princeton doesn’t look at your freshman year grades. Maybe some of the others don’t as well. That would be something to consider.

What they all look at and care about is your rank. This is true whether your school officially ranks or not. All applicants that are credible have taken their school’s hardest classes.

How are you a straight A student with a 3.89 UW? I think I’m misunderstanding something.

*Straight A student SINCE freshman year, sorry about not clarifying that:)
