Hey everybody, I just wanted to know if anybody could give me an educated guess on if I got acceptance into the following schools for next semester in the field of Philosophy as a Sophomore: Boston University, Fordham University, Marist College, Northeastern University, Syracuse University.

Here are my stats :
Caucasian Male from Long Island, New York. Currently attending school a private school in Penn.

(I expect the GPA to rise up to 3.4 or 3.3. SATs you could laugh at me, I did horrible on them.)

I know my extracurriculars are my strong point, but do my academics hurt my chances at any of these schools? Laugh if you want, but another serious question: Do you think if my GPA raises a lot this semester that there's a chance to apply for NYU or Cornell?

I think all of those schools, with the exception of possibly Cornell, will not look at SATs if you have two years in college. I think that is your best bet.

I was under the impression that BU was actually pretty tough to get into(due to the size of the classes in comparison to the admissions rate.) that’s pretty relieving. Anybody know anything about admissions at FU SU MC or NEU?

BU, Fordham, and Syracuse are all practically around the same level. Northeastern is a bit lower, and I don’t know about Marist. But I think your chances as a transfer into Cornell or NYU would be unrealistic.

Wooo Long Island (couldn’t help it) you’ll definatley get into Marist, I had the same-ish SAT scores and I got in there, and fordham you’ll get in to. Not sure about `cuse though…Just write a really good essay :)
