What are my chances of getting in to these schools:

UC Berkeley, USC (Annenberg), Pepperdine, University of San Diego, University of Washington, Syracuse, and Notre Dame

Thank you!!

Do you live in Califorinia? If you do then these are chances
UB is a high match/low reach
Notre Dame is low reach
Rest are matches
chance- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1663167-chance-business-major.html#latest</a></p>

I don’t live in California… I live in Washington State :/

Ok so it would be
UCB- high match (can you pay all of the money? UC schools do not offer a lot of aid to OOS)
and the rest would be the same
chance please- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1663167-chance-business-major.html#latest</a></p>

I would definitely put UCB as a reach, as it is incredibly hard to get into especially from OOS. Being from OOS would make it more difficult not easier, so I don’t know where @BusinessInsider‌ is coming from. USC and Notre Dame might also be reaches. The rest you have a decent shot at getting into especially UW since you are in state and it doesn’t have as strict as the other schools in terms of admissions. For Syracuse, their admission rate to the Communications and Journalism department tends to be much lower than their overall admission rate, because their Newhouse school is very well renowned. Good luck OP, you have a good range of schools, but I think it is very important to be realistic about your chances. If applying to UCs as others have mentioned, they probably won’t give alot of FA, so that may be somehing to consider in your college search

Okay thank you guys! What do you mean be realistic about my chances @shawnspencer ? Should I lower my sights for schools?

bump

I would take the SAT again and try to increase that, or take the ACT. If you could score in the 2100s on the SAT your chances would be a lot better

Your current SAT score is too low for Berkeley and USC. Additionally, the California schools offer their best full financial aid packages to National merit winners. As an OOS student, if you got in, you would be paying full fees to support the California colleges. Assume $55-60K per year. That is a LOT of money.

i would say san diego, syracuse, and pepperdine are pretty much safetys for you. :)

bump

chance me first and i will chance back with the same amount of detail.

bump

I think you’re in good standing. You’ve proved leadership with a two-year captainship and president status in many clubs and have maintained solid As in all of your classes but 1. But…the 2020 is just a bit of a problem.

Especially since you don’t live in CA, I would say…
UC Berkeley: mid reach
USC (Annenberg): low reach
Pepperdine: match
University of San Diego: match
University of Washington: low match
Syracuse: low match
Notre Dame: high match

bump

please chance

Notre Dame- low reach
Berkeley- reach
U San Diego- high match
U Washington- match

bump

please chance
