I posted this in another forum a few days ago, but just putting this out here with a few changes to get some additional feedback from users who may be more familiar with Cornell :P

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read this! All suggestions are greatly appreciated! Be honest and don't be afraid to hurt my feelings. Thanks again!

You’ll need to distinguish yourself since there are many, many Asians (Asians aren’t URM if I remember correctly) from New York alone applying to Cornell. The best way to do that is to write a high-quality essay. Be sure to go to a competent and trustworthy teacher to guide you with that. The same can be said for recommendations.

Thanks for your response! Yea, I noted “None” next to Hooks (sorry if this wasnt clear). I am working very hard on my essays, but my recs are out of my hands : / Thanks again!

BUMP! : ) Anyone else?

Before I chance you, I would like to discuss how I can receive my spaceship.

once you chance me, a gorges spaceship is going to suddenly appear over whatever building you are currently residing in~

You just have to trust me hehe

Wanna chance me now? : )

Great course load/grades. Standardized exams perhaps a little lacking (Biology), but good nevertheless. ECs are a little inclined toward science (not that it’s a bad thing); science research definitely helps. I think you have a good chance for CALS–but Islander4 has a good point, a fantastic essay would help very much.

OP, I am sure that you realize that the people “chancing” you are either other applicants or less likely Cornell students themselves. There is not a single person responding that could read the minds of the adcoms who will read your application. You have as good a chance as other high stat-high GPA great EC applicants. This is Cornell that you are applying to, and everybody has a similar profile to you.

Wishing you the best of luck in the admissions process and try to remember that most students end up where they belong.
