Chance me for A&M and UT Austin

Hi there I was wondering if someone could tell me how likely I am to get into A&M and UT Austin.

My SAT score is an 1840
590 Reading, 610 Math, and 640 Writing

I’m ranked 78/570 at a fairly competitive school

My unweighted gpa is a 3.7/4 and my weighted gpa is 97.99/100

I’m a four year varsity athlete and I’m also involved in sports outside of school both of which I’ve been successful in (state and national competitions). I’m a member of my school’s National Honor Society and have quite a bit of volunteer work. I’ve been employed at two places. At UT I’m applying to the school of natural sciences and at TAMU I’m applying to the school of geo sciences.

I also have two pretty solid letters of recommendation and have sent in my full resume. My essays are pretty good as well.

What do you think my chances are?

The average sat score for ut is an 1873.
tamu is 1734
I would say you have a fairly average shot at tamu, and an ok score for UT,
I wouldn’t get your hopes up and have a backup plan

I believe you are only 100 points away (sat)from getting automatic acceptance to TAMU (could be wrong) so u should be able to get in but if not have you thought about participating in the BLENN TEAM at TAMU?

Falling outside of the top 7-8% it will be tough to gain admission to UT as a freshman. Also @warrenbass the average SAT for admitted UT CNS freshman was 1954, it’s not always as easy as just looking at the SAT though. You’ll probably get into TAMU though, especially if you increase your SAT score the second time around. Also, are you a recruited athlete?
