Hi I was wondering if you all can chance me for admission into Undergraduate studies on my scores alone.
Class rank - top 25%
SAT: 700 Math, 570 Reading, 550 Writing, Total 1820
ACT: Composite: 28, English 24, Math 31, Reading 28, Science 29, Combined English/Writing 23
Thanks
I looked at some of your past threads for ECs and work, etc. I think the reason you are not getting a lot of answers is that it is very hard to chance someone outside the Top 8 percent. People do get in outside the top 8 percent but what gets them in is a combination of scores, rank and something else that makes them stand out. That something else isn’t something that is jumping out in your posts. No one will tell you “no” because if you put together a great application, you might get in because you’ll hit what they are looking for.
From your posts so far, I would say you sound like a lot of the great kids I know who go into CAP. I am not trying to discourage you, just saying your chances are most likely CAP unless there is something you are leaving out of your posts that you get into that application.
I had stats kind of similar to yours (8/43 class rank, 29 ACT), and I got waitlisted/PACE/CAP. Although, I stupidly applied to one of the most competitive majors, so you’re smart to apply as UGS. It’ll help your chances tremendously. Good luck, friend
What about english and government majors? Are those really competitive for non auto admits?
English and Government are both in Liberal Arts, which isn’t difficult compared to McCombs/Cockrell/Moody/CS. But it all depends on the applicant pool in the given year.
Thanks for the input I really appreciate it!
