I’d say probably to Albany and New Paltz, maybe to Buffalo and Stony Brook, and probably not to Binghamton and Geneseo. Just hazarding a rough guess.

Mmm, I’ve seen people get into Buffalo with way worse stats than mine. I actually thought I would definitely get into that one.

Do you think I would get into Binghamton through EOP?

Stats for each college are available, go to collegedata site.
SAT score seems way too low for Bing, Geneseo.

GPA without knowing about rigor of your classes doesn’t tell us much. Did you take AP and all honors courses ? Even if so, you need to get the SAT higher or take ACT, some people do better there.

EOP has lower admissions standards, so perhaps you might get into Geneseo or Bing depending on the rigor of your courses. I would check out the suny.edu site, which gives a listing of the mid-range stats for each school, including general admissions, honors programs and EOP programs.

What do you want to study? The same website lets you do a search by major so you can see which SUNY’s offer what you want and what scores are in the midrange. It’s a great tool. We found my son’s school, which we weren’t familiar with beforehand, in part with this tool.

I plan on studying pre-med while majoring in Psychology. My school does not offer many AP classes, I took 2 out of the 3 ones that they have. Also, that was my 3rd time taking the SAT. I think that’s the best I can do cause I’ve always been a bad test taker. :frowning: If I don’t get in through EOP for Bing and Geneseo, my #1 choice is Buffalo, and or Stony. What do you guys think of my chances in those schools?

Through EOP at Stony Brook and Buffalo, maybe. Otherwise, not so good.

Really? Even for Buffalo? From what I’ve heard, my stats fall pretty much right in their admitted students, and my GPA is well above the one that they want.

Your SAT is not fantastic, it’s more in a normal range, though your GPA is good. Buffalo State should be no problem, but I am not sure about U Buffalo. However, you never know. My friend’s son got off the waitlist to Bing this year with a 3.8 UW and a 25 composite ACT. My son had a 3.46 UW and a 28 composite, but I discouraged him from applying there because it didn’t have his major, so I don’t know if he would have gotten in. I didn’t care enough to spend $50 to find out.

Have you checked suny.edu for the range information?

I have. The middle 50% for U-Buffalo was anywhere from 1150-1310, but the GPA was from a 90-96 for the 2017 year. I’m above the GPA mark, and my SAT falls right into the middle 50%. I’m hoping if I destroy the essay and letters of recommendations, I could get in. Like I said, U-Buffalo is my #1 choice.

I plan on applying EOP for all schools, and seeing if I can get in. If I am “overqualified”, then I will just get sent into their regular decision pool, which I am fine with.

Good luck. None of mine applied to U Buffalo, they thought it was too big.

Thanks, and yeah it is pretty huge. Personal preference for me.

My Son Was Also #2 In His Class And He Was Execpted To SUNY. He LOVES SUNY!!! Good Luck, SUNY Is A Premir Institution! ~:>
