match: UCI, ucd, uc Riverside, uc merced, UCSB, UCSC
slight reach: UCSD (median applicant GPA is 4.13)
far reach: UCLA (avg GPA 4.17) and uc Berk (avg GPA 4.18)
maybe if you get the SAT score up into high 2100s to 2200s you’ll have a better chance
decent ECs though :)

You are competitive for the UC’s but retaking the SAT will help for the top tier schools: UCLA/UCB/UCSD.
Your GPA and your overall SAT score are below the 50th percentile for UCLA/UCB, so I would say Low Reach/High Match
Your chances will also be dependent upon your intended major since STEM majors will be more competitive.

UCSD: High Match
UCI/UCSB/UCD: Match
UCSC: Low Match
UCR/UCM: Safety
I have linked the Freshman Profile for 2014 if you want to compare your STATS: http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_fr/Frosh_Prof14.htm

UC Riverside + UC Merced - safeties
UCSC + UCSB - low matches
UC Davis + UCI + UCSD - matches
UCLA + UC Berkeley - reaches

Raise your SAT score and you will be a more competitive applicant. good luck!

All else the same, how much would you guys think I would have to raise my SAT score to bring LA to a closer match to me?

If you looked at the UCLA link I posted, the majority of Freshman had a 2100+ SAT score and UC GPA above 4.2.

If you bring your SAT score to 2200, you’ll be fine! Two of my friends got in with nearly same stats, but 2200 SATs.

UCM UCR UCI-safeties
UCD UCSB-match
UCSB-high match/low reach
UCLA/UCB-high reach

I don’t know how hard your classes are or what major you are (which are two things that can really affect you). Overall, you UC GPA is pretty low for UCLA and UCB. All of the people I know with 4.3+ over made it. Just get it over 4.25 and you should be fine. But your courseload and major really affects this too. I just don’t understand why your W GPA is so much higher than you UC GPA. Also, your Ec’s are pretty weak. yes you did some nice things but so many kids have those things from in school that is nothing much (everyone is an officer or president of a club). Your EC’s are very standard. Also, your SAT can be improved. Overall, you’re not that strong of an applicant but you can easily become a strong one. Just improve your SAT to 2200+ and get an internship or job and you should be much better off.

Chance me back please!
