Also, which score should I use? The act or sat?

or test optional?

You have a good shot, if you apply ED II! However, ensure that your family can afford American’s high cost, considering it offers comparatively little financial aid, and you will not receive merit scholarships most likely.

I have no idea of your family’s financial situation, but it isn’t worth it to unnecessarily encumber your family.

do you think i should apply test optional or use my sat or act scores? @college61728

Probably test-optional, but your GPA (since it’s weighted) isn’t especially strong. Try to improve test scores if you can test one more time ASAP, then send. (But don’t send now, as they’re below the 25th percentile.) Focus on a great 1st semester and getting awesome letters of recommendation. Also, write passionate essays that demonstrate intimate knowledge of American’s academic opportunities. Demonstrate interest in American, not just Washington DC.
