Looking good for Amherst. One of my top choices too!! I think the trouble is they take such a small class so it makes it competitive for absolutely anyone. Best of luck!

Amherst only admits a very small % of kids with strong academics and average ECs (relative to their applicant pool). You seem to fit that category. Without some time of hook or distinguishing characteristics valued by the school, I think your chances are either in the single digits or slightly above.

I believe you will be considered pretty much a URM because Asians don’t apply to and attend LACs as much as they do to Ivies etc. That said, I do agree that your ECs don’t make you stand out and your gpa appears low. Apply and hope for the best. We don’t see the other parts of your app such as your recs and essays so you never know what will happen. Good luck!
