i know in 6th and 7th grade my ec and grades arent perfect. but i have alot of stuff for eigth grade. will this ruin my chances or is this okay that i have alot for this year. will i get in. this is my dream!

How are your SSATs? Also, what state are you from?

Your marathons and triathlons might interest them, or at the very least give you something interesting to talk about for your interviews.

Where do you live? You have ethnic diversity on your side; if you live in a state that isn’t typically overrepresented at New England schools, that might help as well (geographic diversity). I can’t speak for Andover, Exeter, and Choate in particular, but I think you should go ahead and apply. Just know that the acceptance rate is often around 10%. If going to boarding school is your dream, make sure you have a couple of safeties (check out some of the “hidden gems” as well).

Good luck!

I live in CT, i live in a town where their is little diversity though. Not to many hispanics. Also, I havent taken the SSAT’s yet. But am studying my butt off for it. But i am also applying to two other prep schools near my town

Oh and i am also applying for Financial aid, i don’t know if that will hurt my chances or not. I also have one more question, does it matter how long you have done your extracurricular’s

I’m applying to private schools in my area, and no boarding schools, so I can’t really say anything about them. The thing about financial aid: it probably shouldnt, but thats just what the school I’m applying to says (i dont really see any reason why it should, though). For your second question, it should matter quite a bit, because it shows dedication and commitment to whatever activity it is. If youve started doing a bunch of extracurriculars in the past few years, schools might think you’re doing it just for the admissions; concentrating on one or two would be the best option.
