I am going into ninth grade next year so i will be applying for tenth grade or ninth grade repeat (if i repeat it wont make much difference because i am a year younger than everyone in my grade anyway)

I am an all a student at a public middle school in Texas (this year i kept all of my averages above 95) I am a year ahead in math (its my best subject, and i have been in a gifted and talented program at my school since second grade. I think i will do pretty well on the psats because i have taken the sats before and scored above 600 on each section. My ec's include national junior honor society, and doing technical theater at school for multiple plays throughout the year. I am currently teaching religious school 6 hours a week. I used to play select soccer...but then i ripped my acheles tendon so i can't really do sports anymore (that is something that worries me).I also completed my fourth year of Destination Imagination (if you know what that is) and my team went to stated once. I will most likely need financial aid if not a full scholarship.

Andover and Exeter are need-blind, so this won’t affect admission. Both schools offer generous financial aid, though I obviously can’t say if it’ll be as much as you would want.

Your EC’s are very much lacking, because I barely count NJHS as an EC and Technical Theater, while an EC, isn’t the best. However, teaching religious school is a good community service EC. It is good you’re learning multiple languages. Your grades are perfect, and if you took the SAT doing something like Duke TiP, Stanford’s Talent search, or JH CTY, your scores were probably recognized. You can put that on your application.

Let me give you an estimate, this assumes you don’t pick up new EC’s and your grades stay the same.

You: 25% Max: 25% Grades and Recommendations.
You: 10% Max: 10% SSAT Scores (You’ll probably do well on these, but they don’t count for much)
You: ? Max: 20% Interview
You: ? Max: 25% Essay
You: 7% Max: 20% EC’s

That should give you an idea of the importance of things.

Currently, without knowing the quality of your essays and interview: 42%/55% or 76%.
We’ll see what happens with the other two, which carry a lot of weight.

Soontoboard, you don’t just join EC’s for the sake of looking involved, schools look at how long you have been in each club/sport/etc, your level of involvement, awards, etc. If you have like 10 clubs that you’ve been in for a year, no leadership, awards or anything, it won’t mean anything to them

andoverexeter, where did you get this information?? and cakedolls, i think you have a good chance-- but as much of a chance as everyone else, too. you really can’t say for sure.

I am applying to Andover, Exeter, Groton, and Middlesex, and I was wondering if you could chance me.
