Please give me some schools that seem to be in reach with my stats so far. I just want to have a goal or guideline of what I should be aiming for :D

I'm a junior in high school. I am from Connecticut.

Here are my stats:

My stats are:
4.2 GPA weighted
My counselor doesn't know my unweighted GPA [-(
Have not taken SAT or ACT yet (taking SAT in May, ACT in June), but current score in my SAT prep class is 1780 (pretty low but I'm work on it)

16 rank in class, part of top tenth

ECS:
Culinary Club (9,10)
Art Club (10)
Tennis (9,10)
Student government (9,10,11)
100+ hours of community service, 90 or so of them come from me volunteering at the summer camp at an aquarium
Tutoring

I have taken advanced/honors classes my entire high school career but below are the more significant ones (ones that have college credit or more difficult)

More of the prominent classes I am taking this year:
Americans Studies I (a UCONN college credit credit class offered at my high school, it is a combination of history and English, 7 UCONN credits)
AP Chem

Prominent classes I am planning on taking senior year
American Studies II (a continuation of AS I)
AP Psychology
Honors Physics (Panning to take the AP Physics test)
Statistics (Another UCONN college credit class)
Spanish (UCONN College Credit)

If you are junior and have not taken ACT or SAT once by now, you are a little bit behind. If you need to retake either one, that would run into Fall of your senior year. That would put a lot of pressure on you as you would not have much time to set up a matching school lists before EA/ED deadline.

@billcsho I am only worried about the ACTs since they don’t offer them in the summer. But I will be working on my SATs since they are offered in the summer.

one thing i’ve learned from CC (my daughter is a junior) is that you must take the ACT and/or SAT at least once during junior year…and preferably twice…because 1) these tests are a bear…and you need to try them in a real sitting and 2) you might be much better at one than the other…and then you still have the time to concentrate on taking the good one again.

@SouthernHope @billcsho
AHHHH I’m screwed!!! I feel like if I study for another round of SATs during the summer, I will forget everything by the time fall comes!! Any suggestions?

I have signed up for May SAT and June ACT, should I sign up for June SAT 2 as well?

May SAT and June ACT is good! Take them both…see which one you’re better at…and then schedule a 2nd sitting maybe in September-ish…this will work out!

I think you should do the SAT2 in June as well. But you do need to bring up your SAT1 first. Without SAT2, may still apply to many schools. Without a good SAT1 (or ACT), you will have limited choices.
