Chance me for any of the Ivies + UChicago and Stanford?

<p>Hey guys,
I'm going to be applying to all of the Ivies as well as other prestigious universities such as Stanford and UChicago this fall.</p>

<p>My logic is that if I apply to these top 10 schools, I can probably make it at least one of them, right?</p>

<p>I would love to hear back from you on my chances for any of these Universities.</p>

<p>Stats:
GPA: 3.71 :( (For early action, probably 3.76 or so when I apply for regular decision)</p>

<p>My weighted is mad high tho, it will be a 6.9 or something.</p>

<p>AP/IB Student: AP World 5, AP Human Geo 5, AP Lang 5, AP Euro 5, AP Macro 4, AP Gov 5, APUSH 5, AP Lit 5
Next year taking four HL Courses (Chem, Drama, Hist. and English)

<p>President: I'm president of a middle school debate organization, we have more than 7 schools and teach over 200 kids debate. We hold competitions and such.</p>

<p>Have been Lead Actor of several plays both in and out of school</p>

<p>Ambassador: National Society of High School Scholars</p>

<p>Novelist : In the process of publishing a novel.</p>

School: Large Public, we have a few go to the ivies every year</p>

<p>My essays and recs will be amazing hopefully, I'm gonna spend a large part of summer perfecting my essays.</p>

<p>I understand that my GPA is relatively shitty, but that is because of middle school math and french that translated over into high school. I also got B's in Math and Chem. I figured that my 800 on subject tests can show the admissions office that I'm actually relatively decent at these subjects and that the grading in my school is tough.</p>

<p>And if it comes to interviews I will def get it in bc I'm a charming fellow with devilish good looks </p>

<p>So yea please chance me it will mean a lot to me
and please be harsh, looking for that constructive criticism

<p>No, you probably WON’T make into one of those schools, just like every other qualified student. The question is why would they take you? Your resume is solid but there is nothing that sticks out. I hate to sound harsh but your app is a dime a dozen. You will get into a great school, just don’t count on your top 10, that’s just silly.</p>

<p>You have big dreams @iwantcollegeplox. It’s OK to dream but be realistic and LOVE YOUR SAFETIES and have at least some. I know a student who put all their eggs in one basket and applied to all Ivies and one state school ( went to one of the top 5 high schools in the country). Only got into the state school. I don’t know if I’d agree with GA2012MOM as far as your app being a ‘dime a dozen’ … Not many kids that have over 1000+ community service hours. And none that would describe themselves as having ‘devlish’ good looks either . Good Luck and keep the faith but be realistic. Chancing is kind of just someones opinion to begin with … :slight_smile: </p>

<p>I’d say Chicago seems perfectly realistic and the rest are a complete gamble! You might get into one or two if you’re lucky or none at all…</p>

<p>Your UW GPA is low, and from what I’ve heard, weighted GPA is quickly becoming the most meaningless number in college admissions (because every school weights differently. The SAT and subject test are great, but EC’s are pretty generic. They are by no means bad, but don’t separate you from the rest of the pack, which you have to do in order to get into those caliber of schools. It’s a crap shoot, and you probably will get denied by most, but might be accepted to a few.</p>

<p>All the admissions committees at Ivies, Stanford, and UChicago will laugh at your application and have fun throwing it in the garbage bin. </p>
