Chance Me for BC Nursing Early Action

Hi, I applied early action to Boston College’s Connell School of Nursing and I’d like to have a rough idea of my chances. Please let me know (Be Honest)
About Me:
Hispanic
Female
Public HS in VA
Single-Income Household

Stats:
GPA- 4.24 W (My school doesn’t do UW)
SAT- 1440 (superscore)
National Hispanic Scholar (through the College Board’s National Hispanic Recognition Program)
Honor Roll (either All-A or A/B) throughout the past 3 years
Academic Achievement Award (through my school)
Academic Varsity Letter (through my school)

Junior Year:
IB Math SL2, IB HOA, IB Biology 1, IB Latin 1, IB Lang & Lit 1, plus 2 Elective classes
My senior year is going pretty well so hopefully if I get deferred that will help!

ECs:

  • Field Hockey (9-12) (Captain, 1st Team All-District and 2nd Team All-Region Honors)
  • Lacrosse (9-12) (Captain, 1st Team All-District and 2nd Team All-Region, Defensive MVP at my school, won district championship with my school)
  • Captain of my Club Lacrosse team (9-12)
  • Yearbook Coverage Editor (10-12)
  • Manager of my school’s Wrestling Team (9-12)
  • National Honor Society (11-12)
  • Member of Best Buddies Club (Student-run friendship club)\
  • Had a job as a Nanny over the Summer
  • Volunteer at my local hospital (Elder Life Program)
  • Youth Group

I have no idea how good my Teacher Recs were, but I hope they were good. I also included one from my field hockey coach, which I assume is good. My essays were about things I am passionate about, so hopefully that will show when the admissions officers read them.
I honestly don’t know my chances. I’m really hoping to get in EA but every time I look at all of the awesome stats on this website and I get discouraged. Please be honest and let me know if you think my resume is strong enough for BC Nursing EA. Thanks!

You have a decent chance. Given that you are Hispanic with a stronf academic performance, that helps—they want to grow their AHANA percentage. My friend got into their nursing program last year with a 1350 and a 3.9. Your stats make you qualified. I would say your weaker point in your application maybe are your extracurriculars because they are all over the place and don’t really show where your interests lie. However, they are also not bad. Additionally, it’s good that your essays show passion because Boston College is big on passion,

Write killer essays because that’s all you can do at this point and you have a good shot! Good luck.
