Hello! I’ve been thinking about applying to Boston College, but I’m not sure if there’s a point to it based on my stats. Would someone be willing to help me out?
I’ve listed them here:
ACT - 31
4.0 GPA unweighted
I’ve taken 5 AP Courses, ranging from AP Language and Comp. to AP Chemistry and AP Statistics. I’ve taken a foreign language all four years of high school.
I’ve been involved in cross country since my sophomore year and am now a team captain. I’m also a House Captain for our school’s community system and School Project Manager for NHS. I’m currently a member of Spanish NHS, Book Club, and was involved in six different clubs from sophomore to junior year. I was involved in drumline and pep band my freshman year. I’ve played piano for 8 years and violin for 3 and have gone to state competitions for both. I’ve also won several awards, all within my school. I’ve done about 140 hours of community service since I’ve entered high school. I attend a private school in the midwest.
I think my essay for the Common App was pretty swell and really fitting for a Jesuit school.
Parchment listed my chances at about 65%. Is that high enough to take the chance and apply? I realize my ACT isn’t the highest and I think I could be involved in more extracurricular activities, but do you think it’s worth a shot or should I pass? Also, if you guys have any suggestions for other schools I should look into, I’d really appreciate it!
Thank you!
^^
“Parchment listed my chances at about 65%”
Sounds good to me, they certainly aren’t going to say 100% + Parchment is total bullshizt.
ACT is good but could be better for BC. Hopefully you have some unique ECs to show why you are a great fit for BC.
Can’t really chance you without EC info.
p.s: congrats on your GPA
You have a shot, so may as well apply. GPA is great and ACT is in range. Midwest may also give you slight boost
