Real people…

RML:

will need soc-ec data to determine…any or all three could be easily accepted if first gen; or attending low income/high ethnic high school; or, overcame “adversity”… Also, need gender if applying to CoE…

Berkeley is a crap shoot sometimes; Lol, I don’t think I should have gotten in based on my admission stats, but my essay helped me out a lot.

@all; wow thanks for chancing guys! special thanks to RML for following this thread

quickly turning into some sort of twisted admission probability game lmao; I would probably say person #1 would get into Berkeley just because he is well rounded in terms of GPA, SAT, and AP scores (of course assuming that social-economic status, race, personal problems, school, and gender are all the same)

keep it coming : )

^ Ironically, person #2 was the one admitted. I guess the applicant’s GPA did make him win a slot in the end. :)

@RML: hahaha crap i guess thats bad thing for me then : /

What college was #2 admitted to??? I wouldn’t have picked that one. Interesting…

@momfirst3: Berkeley! You would have to ask RML for the specific area of study.

Bumpity bump : ) more chances welcome!

Hahahaha… No, I meant College of Engineering, College of Chemistry, Letters and Sciences, etc. hahahaha

@momfirst3: oh haha yea i had a feeling you meant it that way – I’m not sure : ( sorry: ask RML lol

Wanna chance me though? : )

bumpity bump~

Sure… I think your test scores and EC’s look good. I do think that your GPA is on the lower side for the College of Engineering. You have similar stats to my son (he’s a freshman this year, Undeclared Engineering Major), with the exception of the GPA. I think being OOS at this time may work in your favor as Cal has been increasing the OOS acceptance rate. I’m not good with assigning percentages, but I certainly think you should apply and I do think you have a good shot of being accepted. Berkeley uses a holistic approach to admissions so I would really work on your essays. Don’t just say what you think they want to hear; be genuine and honest in your tone. Good luck.
