Final Comments
My father is a disabled veteran from the gulf war so I get free tuition at any public school in California. As of right now, my first choice is a struggle between UCSD and Berkeley. I loved both of those campuses; the only thing is that Berkeley is in a bad neighborhood. The reason I have Sonoma State up there at all is to serve as a safety school that I wouldn’t mind attending since it is beautiful up there and my girlfriend is using it as a safety also.

Thank you everyone for taking time out of your day to read this and comment.

Your SAT scores are pretty low for Berkeley.

Aim for a 2000+ on the SAT, other than that, looks ok.

I love Berkeley too lol

I would say you can get into all of them, including UCB/UCLA as long as you bring that SAT score up to like 2050 ish.

Get your SAT above 2200 to be on par with the other Asians. Chem E at UCB and UCLA are really competitive. Even with that score and your gpa, you cannot be gauranteed admission; those schools are really, REALLY competitive.

Your scores are definitely a bit low, but your other stats seem good. Davis, Irvine and Santa Cruz are easier to get into than the rest, and I’d say you have a good shot at those. And you’ll definitely get into Sonoma, obviously. The other UCs, I don’t know. It kind of depends on your essays.
I applied to all of these schools except for Berkeley and Sonoma. Who know, maybe we’ll be neighbors? Good luck!
