Alright so I am a white male from Utah (not Mormon though if that changes anything) and Berkeley is my #1 school (I am a perspective Business Major)

So my UC weighted GPA is a 4.22 (4.42 uncapped) (I think that I calculated it correctly but if anyone has a more complete guide on how to do it than I do it would be greatly appreciated)
My UC unweighted GPA is a 3.9

My GPA through my school (Highly competitive IB program; last year we got 5 kids admitted to Harvard) goes as follows
Unweighted: 3.90 (32 out of 541)
Weighted: 4.32 (41 out of 541)

ACT scores: Composite 32; 34 English, 32 Math, 31 Reading, 30 Science
English/Writing Composite: 33 (10 on the Essay)

AP Scores:
(I Know these aren't great)
Sophomore Year: Calc AB: 4; APUSH: 4;
Junior Year: Calc BC: 3(AB Subscore of 5); Lit: 3

IB Scores:
Junior Year: Economics SL: 5

EC's:
Deca (Just joined this Year)
4 Years Baseball (including this upcoming spring) (3 Years Varsity(including upcoming Spring))
-We play/practice 4-5 days a week 10.5-11 months of the year (Spring, summer, fall leagues along with preseason practices in the winter)
-The amount of time consumed with baseball is sort of the reason I don't have that many EC's
2 Years Golf (1 Yr JV, 1 Yr Varsity)(we won our region this year)
Community service through my church (anywhere between 70-100 hours total)

Other schools on my list include:
NYU
Michigan
UT Austin
Stanford
Columbia
UPenn
Cornell

If you want to chance me for any of those that would be great!

It is a reach school for you, but you still have a decent chance I believe. Make sure to apply to some safety schools as well, as your list contains all very competitive schools.

CBJ is correct.
3 on ap test isn’t good at all. Your school seems to have plenty AP or IB test but I really don’t think I see your rigor or academic passion? Correct me if I am wrong.
also your EC is generic too. 9 of 10 applicants would do such EC. It doesn’t distinguish you from anyone…unless you had really no or little resource to do more EC(well for example, your school doesn’t support some activities you wish you could have done)

Unless your essay is super duper it’s pretty slim chance for Stanford Upenn Columbia.

I know a girl who got into dartmoth with less EC’s and pretty much the same grades she also wasn’t in IB or anything because our school doesn’t provide AVID or any of that. We don’t even have honor classes for lower classmen and Dartmouth is pretty prestigious. I wouldn’t feel to down and just keep pushing for this semester and apply anyway!

However, having the median scores/GPA of admits does not mean Berkeley is a match. It just means that your application will be seriously considered. It will all depend on your essays, as Berkeley does not accept recs or interviews.

Stanford, Columbia, Penn, Cornell - higher reaches
Berkeley - high match to low reach
NYU, Mich - matches
UTA - low match

kitensmittens, she must have had something else that made her stood up.
I mean, if your school and/or region has nothing, what else can she or you do?
Yeah UtahStudent27 's GPA is fine(in hard-school standard) but he/she probably shoouldn’t be compared to the girl you mentioned because of different support background(??)

Berkeley: Match/High match (can you pay full-freight?)
NYU: Match/High match
UMI: High match
UT-Austin: Low match/Match
Stanford: Reach
UPenn: Reach
Cornell: Reach
Columbia: Reach

You have strong academics and a competitive high school which is good. Your ECs are somewhat weak, which will make the Ivies more of a reach.
Berkeley: Low reach/match
NYU: Match
UMI: Match
Stanford, UPenn, Cornell, Columbia: Reach
