I applied to The college of community and public affairs. My gpa is a 95.6, rank top 10%, sat 1790, and act 27. I have taken several ap, honors, and college level classes. I'm in a bunch of clubs, I'm the manager of the ski team at my school, I volunteer 2-3 times a week, etc...
Do I have ANY chance of getting in? Do you think I will be deferred to regular admission? Binghamton is my top choice!!!

YOU’LL NOT BE DEFERRED BECAUSE THE EA ALREADY PASSED!
But you do have grat chances for RD, so, good luck!

I think you have a chance.
Do you mind me asking what your CR+M SAT score is and if you’re in state?

I think what they mean is that they applied EA and haven’t heard back yet and are worried about being deferred.

I am instate my CR+M is a 1200. I applied EA and I haven’t received a letter at all yet:(

O wish you the best morris, I thought you hadn’t applied yet, sorry! ")

It’s fine! Good luck to you too

I think you have a decent chance. I think at the least you should be deferred.

Thank you! That is what my guidance counselor keeps saying (my school has a good reputation with binghamton). I’m just reallyyyyyyyy nervous and anxious.

I haven’t heard back yet either, and my guidance counselor thought I’d get in to Binghamton just fine. Waiting on the mail now just in case. Sort of nervous. I know how you feel morris

Omg same, I check my mail every day now. Have you heard of anyone getting rejected or deferred yet?

Haven’t heard anything about rejections or deferrences. one person commented that they were accepted after the original round on the 24th, but I don’t know if they just posted late or if it came later in the mail.

worst part is a bunch of my friends here already got their letters. :c

Aw I hope we get in! Please post when you find out

I have similar stats to yours with a little better SAT and I’m still waiting too. Only one person from our school in lower NYS has heard so far so I wouldn’t be concerned

I appear to have been accepted. Just got an e-mail with the whole “You’re the 1 We Want” thing. Kind of odd, considering I thought they only did decisions by mail, but at the same time, mail is delayed in my area atm, so I don’t know…

Your gpa is good enough but your scores might be a little weak.

Suggest you take the SATs again … good luck

You definitely need higher than a 1450/1600, 800s in SAT2s, 92/100, good ecs, good essay. this is coming from a kid in specialized high in the city. i got deferred

Isn’t it too late to retake the sats? i was deferred to regular admission. Are my chances any good because I applied to the easiest school. (I talked with someone who works in the admissions office and they said most people are not even aware the college of community and public affairs even exists.)

My dude, doesn’t Bing not look at SAT 2’s? I had an 82 average in a Specialized High School and a 1350, and I got a deferral. ):
