Chance me for Boston University

Major: Engineering

3.8 GPA (My average for science classes is pretty high; if that matters.)
APs: Chem Calc Physics (My school doesn't offer that many)
Many honors classes
730M 520CR 520W (I know.)
I did pretty well on the NYS standardized tests (Regents)
Member of many clubs and secretary of one
NHS, Robotics Team,
220 volunteer hours as a TA for kids

Chances? I really don't know what I would do with my life if I don't get into this school

this is not a bump

I think you will be accepted. Although your cr and writing is slightly lower than BU’s average, you are going for engineering, so they will focus on your math (which is great!!) and your GPA is good. Please chance me back. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1422358-please-chance-me-thank-you.html

My brother had 740 in math and 800 on math i and he was rejected from the engineering but bu considered him for CAS. So there’s that.

Can someone also chance me for Binghamton U for engineering?

you’ll get in

You have a really good shot - I know people with far lower GPAs and scores that have gotten in!

bump!!!

bumppppppp

Is that gpa weighted or unweighted?
Your Critical Reading and Writing are below average but your math is above. If you could get your SAT up a bit more that would help.
I would ha e to say though, that for the engineering school it will be a high match/low reach but for the school in general you are a match.

For Binghamton it is a similar situation.
You could always try applying not to the engineering school and then transferring into it later on!
Good luck

What if you don’t get accepted to the engineering school? Do you have to do general studies?

bumpppppppp

update: I took the Dec SAT and I have a good feeling I did much better on the Math section. I’m not sure about CR though…

BU: Match
Binghamton: Match

The thing is, most good test-optional schools won’t be that great for engineering… so, if you were to attend a test-optional school, try to get high grades in the test-optional school first and then try to transfer in BU engineering.

@Catria, What do you mean? I’m pretty sure BU and Binghamton are not test optional and @KS it is weighted

My advice: apply to a test-optional school on top of BU and Binghamton, and, if you don’t get into BU or Binghamton and still make it into a test-optional school, do well in the test-optional school (please, no Bates or Bowdoin with your GPA) and then transfer into BU or Binghamton for engineering.
