Notable: Throughout school I have had a speech impediment and have really battled it throughout high school. It has shaped who I am as an individual and I would really like to showcase this to a school like Brown which likes odd characters. I am also a liberal living in a very conservative community where I often get alot of flak, and feel very comfortable voicing my opinion.

I am applying to Brown, Tufts, Columbia, University of Michigan, Wash U, Cornell, and NYU

definitely in for tufts, nyu, and michigan

columbia will be difficult, cornell a bit less

I think if you retake your SAT and score above 2200 that would help your chances.
Columbia and Cornell seem like reaches, but Michigan seems like a good match. Does your school give class rank?

Please chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/655614-please-chance-me-acceptance-into-finest.html

Just be careful if you're applying for Stern in NYU because its standards at accepting student are higher then average.

Chance me too:

Does your GPA put you close to the top of your class?

I would add a safety although Michigan is a match, you're OOS and you never know.

I'd work on raising the SATs. You will need to put an interesting/intelligent twist on your essay topics to pull them off, they are pretty common.

study for the other sat subjects so you get mid 700's or higher. you'll probably be fine seeing your history score. write an essay about your speech impediment. i think it could highlight how you've been able to succeed regardless of obstacles that stood in your way. i think you have a decent shot at all of the schools. a bit chancy though, you will definitely want to add at least one more safety.

Wanna http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/653970-gimme-shot.html?

Thanks guys. My school doesn't rank but I've made high honor roll along with like 25 other people every quarter. So i would say that's probably our class's top 5%. I'm also applying to safeties such as Tulane, Brandeis, and BU.
