No paid work experience, but I had 2 summer internships at UC Santa Cruz - one in ecology and the other in bioinformatics</p>
<p>Your academic stats look solid, the SAT could definitely be higher (about 2300 should be completely safe). I would say most likely waitlist with a chance at accept. Brown really cares about demonstrated interest so if you haven’t shown up to a lot of info sessions and really put yourself out there for Brown it will be harder. SAT II’s look great. The low-income will help a bit, and try for some national recognition/international if possible.</p>
<p>No way to know, you will have to see. There is no score that is completely safe, that is a very misleading thing to say. I know 3 CA kids last year-- all low income, various races, various scores, all top students in the same IB diploma program. Two accepted, one rejected. One couldn’t afford the amount they wanted from the divorced family and took a presidential scholar full ride at smaller college quite happily, other took another peer college, the rejected one had other great options at peer colleges. So, get your UC application in and take care with your essays. Now work on your other college applications and good luck.</p>
