My predicted IB score: 42/42 (with bonus points, 45)

GPA: 4.1 (unweighted)
Rank: 1st out of 75 students (But i think my school kept me as top 2% cause they dont rank)

Math: 800
CW: 660
total SAT reasoning: 1970
Math 1: 740
Math 2: 730

thank you

brown->reach

Yeah; I don’t think you’ll get in with those SAT scores. The international applicants who get in have incredibly high scores.

Best of luck.

I know thats why im worrying so much… but i hope they know that english is my second language and that my TOEFL score will cover for it… but my math and writing are within/past the interquartile range… do they really reject ppl because of reading?

Well, English is the second language for most of the international applicants, and they manage to score very high on both the CR and the W sections. American students who get near-perfect scores are often rejected, so it’s even harder for int’l applicants.

Can you take the SAT again?

no i cant, deadline passed. But this student graduated from my school last year who got a 2020 (50 points higher than mine) on their SATs and they got accepted to Yale and Brown!! so I guess Ivy Leagues have weird systems

well just so u know, there have been lots of international kids who got 800 in math but 530 in reading, and they ended up in harvard ^.^*** i wanna go 2 brown sooooo muchhhhhhh, but i dont think im smart enough T__T* sniff…

Dhara2391… is that something good for me?! if the school thinks my essay is really good and my critical reading score is bad, im sure it wont matter as much… we had a Yale representative at our school last month and I asked him this question: What if my Critical reading score on the SAT is a bit above average? His response was that as an international student, they dont expect us to have perfect proficiency in english and that other aspects such as the essay and toefl score are taken into consideration too… so i really hope thats true

thats exactly correct kdutch90…i mean you are comparing your reading to an average american who read english their whole lives! they certainly don’t expect u to be an expert in english…^^

hey u went 2 harvard ssp summer school too!!! always nice to talk to a fellow harvard ssp student lols ^____^* i too did ungraduate 8 credit course in hvrd in the summer…for bio…got a C+ tho…but in most colleges, that is rele a A or atleast a B+…hope its ok…tho…lols u got a B’s , which is RELE good considering ur completing a yrs worth of work in 3 months…^^

ooooh no way… which summer were you there!!! i might know you if it was summer of 07! which hall did u live in?

lol yeh!!! it was this summer!!! the thing was…i lived in soldier fields apartment…with my mum…LOL…kind of 15 min from cabot library…my classes were in the science center ^^ where were u?

i remember in the science center, there were two rooms (looked like movie theaters inside O__O) lol one was 4 bio, and the other was for…calc i think…^^ hey r u applying to brown? im workingon my upenn essay right now…LOL

yeaaa i miss the science center… my classes were there tooo!! precalculus was in science center C or something but i dont recall where the other one was. I really do miss that summer. Yes i actually just submitted my Brown and UPenn application… are u submitting that crazy page 217 autobiography essay for UPenn? what program are u applying for both?

lols yeah! the math kids from C would always come out like 5 min b4 the bio kids in B…or was it D…LOL…i rele liked the labs on the 4th floor, but everytime u went in, u needed a thick sweater since it was freezing cold >< (and it would be 80 degrees outside XD)
im appyling for biomedical engineering/biology…im kinda of split between pre-med and engineering though…so yeah…( : yeah, well I THOUGHT the brown essay was the hardest…pick an academic experience/book that influenced you…ugh…for upenn, i did that autobio thingy about a time when I was 12 in school…LOL its rele emotional ;D

Woaw you really worked on the optional essays, i just ignored all optional essays in all my applications… is it really gonna be a disadvantage for me? i mean even in the harvard supplement, i just didnt write an optional essay… do u recommend i fill out all optional essays or just leave it as it is?

omg this is getting so ridiculous…im writing essays and im…half asleep…shoot 3:AM already O___X…i have to redo my brown essay…-__-…i did write abt a book but my voice wasnt being heard too much so I’m doing an academic experince in my spanish class instead…im applying to like…40 colleges…its like 40 essays i have to do in 5 days!!!

lols ive applied for so many colleges that I start getting the essay prompts mixed up! what was the harvard optional one again? was that the one abt unusual circumstances?

lols yeah, im trying to fill every space i can…lol i have a 1880 SAT, and i hope i can win the admissions ppl over with my essays…hehe…then maybe my score wont affect me that much…^__<*

40 COLLEGES?!?!?!?! thats absurd! how are you managing, and paying!? lol
take a 5 minute break and list all 40 colleges here im very interested, and tell me what you plan to study… im actually starting to get worried because i ignored all my optional essays, hope i dont get penalized in any way
