I am a rising senior putting together my college list and would love some outside input on my chances. I am looking for a school in the Northeast that is in/near a city, not tiny, and offers a wide variety of majors. I will be going in undecided. I have visited and liked BU, NYU, and Tufts, and I am interested in UPenn and potentially Brown as reaches.
- New SAT: 1520 (770 reading/writing, 750 math) with a 6/5/6 essay. I will be taking it again to try to improve, particularly on the essay. Also got a 710 on SAT bio my freshman year; took 3 more subject tests this June but don't have scores yet.
- Unweighted GPA: 95.4 on a 100 point scale, currently 3rd in my class of ~180
- All but one of my academic classes freshman and sophomore year were honors (my school only offers APs to juniors and seniors), this year I took 2 honors and 3 APs (French, Lang, and APUSH). A or A- year average in all of my APs. I will be in 4 APs and 1 honors course next year.
- I have received a few academic awards at my school, as well as awards for doing well on the National French exam. Also gave a speech in a local French contest and came in 2nd.
- I will have rec letters from 2 of my AP teachers.
- Extracurriculars: Science team (treasurer junior and senior year) French club TV production club DECA (marketing club) NHS (officer senior year) Volunteering at the public library since freshman year Summer job bussing tables at a restaurant
Thanks for the help!
