Class Rank: 69 out of 468 (Top 15%). School is very competitive.
courseload: A year a head in Science, a year ahead in math, two years ahead in Spanish. IB Prep courses freshman year. Accelerated Geometry (9th), Honors Alg 2/ Trig (10th), IB/AP Calculus (11th). Honors english 10, IB HL 1 English, IB HL 2 English. AP US History, IB HL 1 20th century history, IB HL 2 Asian Studies. IB SL Biology. IB SL Spanish (Spanish 5) taken junior year. </p>

<p>EC’s: Figure skater for 14 years, competitive for 9 of those, member of USFSA for 10 years, longtime volunteer within skating community, job as skating instructor (I am pursuing a career in coaching, which is why i want to major in athletic training)</p>

<p>Clarinetist in Wind Ensemble for last 3 years (been playing for 6 years), played in viva city at orchestra hall, 1st chair, etc. Member of pep band—have played in some high-profile parades.</p>

<p>Recommendations: Should be excellent. In counselor recommendation she mentions some special family circumstances that make the GPA i’ve maintained look really good. Recommendation written by english teacher who is very fond of my writing abilities </p>

<p>Also, got a 4 on the AP lit and comp exam last may.</p>

<p>Hm. I know BUs stats on college board are mediocre, but almost all of the non-CGS kids on my floor here at BU are 2100+ for SATs. Unless you’re going CGS, get those numbers up!</p>

<p>@timesnewroman 2100+ SAT scores? wow! Those scores can’t be average. I’d say top 25% of the incoming class. I’m applying to CAS with a 2010 SAT, 3.8 UW, 4.3 W, 32/374 class rank. Your scaring me…</p>

On Naviance, it said the average GPA is 3.74, average sat is a 1998, and an average ACT of 30. I don’t think you have anything to worry about!</p>
