Chance me for Carnegie Mellon ED? I'll chance back!

I'm a rising senior!

Gender/Ethnicity: F/White
Location: Tampa, Florida
High School: Private (2010-2013), Public (2013-2014)
High School Type: sends some grads to top schools
Will apply for financial aid: Yes
Hooks: First Generation College Student
Major: English Literature

Academics:

GPA - Unweighted: 3.61
GPA - Weighted: 3.84
Rank: Not available

^The GPA is based on all course I've taken. I have taken mostly Honors and AP Courses (6 AP courses by graduation), all the rest are Honors level except for math, which was regular. However, I'm taking Honors Pre-Calculus this year.

Also, if they take my senior year GPA into consideration (I heard some colleges do), then my cumulative GPA will be around 3.7 unweighted/4.1 weighted.

There is an upward trend.

Scores:

SAT I Math: 650
SAT I Critical Reading: 700
SAT I Writing: 760

Composite: 2110

^The SAT scores are based on practice tests, and will improve by the time the Oct. date rolls around.

SAT II:

Ah DIDN'T TAKE YET! TBD.

Extracurriculars:

Significant Extracurriculars: National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society

Awards: Award for Academic Excellence in Spanish (lol)

Leadership positions: Astronomy club - President (2011-2012)

Athletic Status: JV Basketball, JV Volleyball

Volunteer/Service Work: Nursing home (150+ hours)

Other: I teach myself foreign languages (I have a penchant for foreign languages; I learn them really quickly), compose for the fingerstyle guitar (9 years and counting), and play the piano (3 years and counting).

So yeah, relatively low GPA, good SAT, decent ECs. Oh and I can write a kick-ass essay. Do I stand a chance for ED admissions?

Thanks, I'll chance you back!!!!

Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science ED → High Reach (well…obviously there isn’t english literature in computer school)
Others: ~Low Reach
You need to pull up your SAT if possible.
You don’t stand a chance if subject tests are required and you didn’t take them on time (I’m assuming the earliest you can take is in November). check the website. If this is the case, delay your ED to regular.

Try doing something unique for the foreign languages, like a blog or something.

Well I have decided to take a gap year, because I just want more time to sort things out before I apply anywhere. And I can’t decide whether or not I want to go into English Literature or CS. Either way I will go into Computers (that is what my father does) but honestly I don’t think I stand a chance for Engineering, at least now. But I would love to go to Carnegie Mellon. And my SAT has gone up. I got a 790 writing last time I took a (college board) practice test. The math will certainly improve as will the CR. But yeah, everything will look better by the time I actually apply, cause I am taking a gap year.

Anyone know about the transfer option at Cornell? I saw some people who, straight out of high school, got a transfer option at cornell. Can anyone tell me about that?

And low reach for Charleston? I don’t think so. it isn’t really hard to go there, from what I’ve noticed. Cornell I know I have no chance, and probably not for CMU either; but I certainly do for Charleston, UF, Penn State, and FSU. Those aren’t “low reaches.”
thank you for your time!
