Reach. ECs are okay but scores are low for their CS school (Ridiculously competitive)

Agreed, it’s a reach. On top of the mediocre scores, your ECs don’t seem to demonstrate that much interest in comp sci. Based on your profile, I’d assume you were going into something related to debate or public speaking. But you still have a shot, just remember that CMU COmp Sci is about as competitive as Stanford or MIT, so reach is about as good as it gets for most applicants.

Your stats are good however carnegie mellon is extremely competitive and is a reach for anyone.

Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1596425-chance-me-georgia-tech-duke-please.html</a></p>

CMU SCS is as much about math as it is about CS. It’s probably going to be difficult for you judging by your ECs to convince them that you deserve a spot.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1593927-chance-me-few-ill-chance-back.html</a> if you could

It depends on your essay now. As long as your recs are great, it would all ride on your essay(though i don’t know what the average SAT score is for Carnigie Mellon). Low reach. Good luck! Chance me back!

SCS is difficult to get into, so it’s a reach. Have you considered applying to HSS as well, because for that I think you’re a match. I’m applying as well so quick question, for the second prompt, did you write an essay or a sentence? I’m honestly confused. Anyways, good luck with all your colleges, with your stats you’ll definitely go somewhere great.

CMU is incredibly competitive so its a reach, but you have a good stats so I think its very possible for you
