GPA and SAT II’s are a little low for regular admissions. Are you applying to the music school? If so, admissions are based more on auditions and how well you can play, and not so much on grades.

I’m actually applying for the Arts and Science school not for music. I know my SAT IIs aren’t that great but I’m pretty confident I’ll do well in my October tests. Other than GPA, are there anything else I’m lacking in? Like extracurriculars?

They’re decent but I guess everyone has room for improvement for their extracurriculars, myself included.

I don’t remember if psychology belongs in HSS, MCS, or a completely different school in CMU, but I strongly recommend you get the SATII Chem score up. Seeing that you took AP Chemistry, your score should be at least above the 700 mark, especially if psych is in MCS. I believe most, if not all CMU schools require that you take an SAT II Math, so definitely sign up to take one or the other.

I believe that psychology belongs in HSS. Is HSS more difficult to admitted to than the rest? Sorry for all these questions…haha
