Chance me for Carnegie Mellon?

Hi. So I'm a Caucasian female OOS student from a competitive high school in Illinois, applying as a chemistry major to CMU Regular Decision this fall. I'm not sure what to expect from CMU this April when decisions are released, so I'm trying to get a better idea because I've heard both sides of the spectrum regarding my chances at this school. It's my top choice.

GPA (Wtd): 4.283
GPA (Unwtd): 3.74

ACT: (I sent in 4 separate tests)
High composite - 31
High English - 36
High Math - 31
High Reading - 33
High Science - 30

SAT Subject Tests:
Math II - 790 (there was a 630 and a 660 but I got a tutor the 3rd time around and did much better)
Chemistry - 770

Grades: Almost all grades are in the A/A- range with the exception of two C+'s in math during my freshman year (freshman grades not counted for CMU, so that's a bonus) and consistent B's in all math classes the rest of the years. Also one B+ in AP US History during sophomore year. The rest are A's.

Course rigor: Every class has been Honors level (except French), changing to AP level during Jr/Sr year.
AP courses:
Sophomore year - AP US History
Junior year - AP Chemistry, AP Euro, AP Calc AB, AP Jr English Language
Senior year - AP Physics C, AP Econ, AP Calc BC, AP Sr English Lit

Extracurriculars are spectacular - I've had 2 part time jobs (Gap Inc. and math tutor), am part of several outside orchestras, volunteer at an observatory (high interest in astronomy), have done plenty miscellaneous volunteer projects, totaling 100+ hours. I am in NHS and was a part of the girls lacrosse team at my high school for 3 years. I also participated in a state orchestra (IMEA) during Junior year.

Essays were very strong - Common app essay turned out awesome, and the other ones I had peer edited and were very solid as well. By far my strongest college app essays I've written, and I write well to begin with.

The only thing I am worried about is my 7th semester grades. I have been quite busy and my grades are not as high as they were last year (AP Physics C and also AP Sr English changed to B's when they are usually A's). Not sure how much this will hurt me. I also quit French senior year, but I don't think that will be detrimental.

I feel like a strong candidate, but am not sure what I'm up against and would love to hear what you think. Thanks so much in advance. I will chance you back if you ask.

Well your GPA and test scores are slightly below average, but not by enough to put you at a significant disadvantage. Your subject tests are great though. If your essay is truly amazing and your ECs are notable then id say you’re a high match.
