Hi! I’m planning to apply early decision to Carnegie Mellon for mechanical engineering, and as the deadline is fast approaching (next Sunday…eep!) I’m starting to question the wisdom of doing so. If I don’t have a decent chance of getting in, I’d rather use my early decision application for another school that is within my reach. Anyway, here are my stats:

This is the weakest part of my application. I received a B- in the first semester of AP Calc AB, Bs both semesters of Honors Precalculus, a B+ in the second semester of honors chemistry, and a B in the first semester of French 2.

Just local school stuff, nothing amazing… Outstanding Leadership Student Award/Scholarship, AP Scholar with Distinction, and the cross country stuff.
Essays
Common App: about the multicultural (Burmese/Chinese/American) world I grew up in (not a huge fan of this)
Supplement: Wrote about how I was the only female junior taking the AP Physics C Mechanics test (out of 5 total people from my school), how I really love physics (SAT Subject Score tho lol), and how I’m really looking forward to the interdisciplinary education offered at CMU
